Slacker

So I have been feeling like a real slacker when it comes to blogging. There are so many things I think about blogging about, but then I never do. I feel like unless I am posting pictures of something fantastic, then there is no point telling everyone about what we are doing. Really though, I just need to record all these things that are happening in our lives.

So here is a funny story from this weekend that I wanted to share. Jordan is involved in a local Boy Scouts Troop, and one of the Scouts had his Court of Honor on Saturday. Jordan was participating in the Court of Honor, so Clara and I decided to tag along to support Jordan as well as this Scout. Being the rambunctious kid that she is, Clara did not sit still very long. We chose to sit on the back row to try and be the least disruptive as possible. All was going well, until Clara decided to climb up onto the chair and stick her head through the back (I tried to find a picture of the type of chair it was, but couldn't find an image. ) The hole was just big enough for her to get her head through, but not pull it back out very well. Needless to say, Clara was NOT happy that her head was stuck in the chair. I hopped up quickly and tried to get her head out, but it was going to take a minute to get her out, so I decided to try and take her and the chair out of the room, but all the chairs were hooked together and I couldn't get hers undone. By this point Clara is screaming at the top of her lungs and no one is paying attention to the Court of Honor that is going on, but to me and Clara. In fact, the person that was talking stopped and came over to help, along with about 7 or 8 other people. I felt like I was in the middle of a bad joke- How many Eagle Scouts does it take to get a kid's head out of a chair? Well the answer to that in this scenario is about 5. I was laughing too hard to be of any help, but after a few minutes and a lot of help from others, Clara was free again! Boy was she happy to be out, but she was also a little traumatized, so we left the room and wandered the halls for a few minutes until she was calm enough to go back in and sit quietly. It was quite the adventure.

And just to top off this post, here is a picture of Clara. She was not very entertained by me trying to take a picture of her.

That is an awesome story. Funny how when our kids do embarrassing things it's in NO way embarrassing to them, but to us. And what age does that transfer I wonder? :) Obviously she's too little to care now, but I bet she'll love this story when she's older.
