When it rains, it pours

So I know this the fourth post today, but I thought I would play a little catch up. And I guess you all can see what our lives revolve around: Clara. She is just so cute, it is hard to want to post about boring things I do, like clean the house or make dinner. So Clara it is! She is starting to scoot a lot more and can push up onto her knees and rock back and forth. I am really excited for her to start crawling, but I am sure I will regret that once she is mobile and getting into everything. She can roll over now too. She really got it down over Christmas vacation, but she rarely does. Anyways, here is a short clip of her moving around. She was way more interested in the camera than trying to push up onto her knees, so you are just going to have to wait a little longer for some really good almost crawling footage!

Clara's First Sucker

Clara had a doctor's appointment this week and had 3 shots. She didn't like it too much. When we got home, Jordan let her have some of a dum dum sucker. She LOVED it. She learned very quickly how to put the sucker in her own mouth. Apparently she doesn't care as much about Cheerios because she has had those a lot more but still can't really get them in her mouth! She needs to learn quickly how to eat them better because she is finally getting her first teeth. Her gums have been swollen since Christmas, but just today I noticed that one tooth on the bottom is finally erupting! Yeah! Here is the video of her enjoying her first sucker

Cute Clara

Here are a couple of pictures of Clara taken this week. I tried to get her to smile, but she wasn't in a smiley mood. Then she had a blow out later that day and I had to change her clothes and mine, so I sort of forgot about taking more pictures of her when she was smiling. Hopefully I will remember soon!

Our Christmas Surprise

I know this is a little late, but hey, better late than never! For Christmas this year we went to Utah. Shhh! It was a secret! We didn't tell Jordan's family we were coming. We decided to surprise them by doorbell ditching Clara on their front porch. This is their reaction:

We pulled off the surprise and had a wonderful Christmas with both families!

What?!?!?! Congress needs help.

I don't know how many of you have heard of this, but it is making me so mad! Congress has passed a law to go into effect on Feb. 10 that would stop all selling of second hand children's items. No one in Congress had the guts to see and say this law will hurt so many American families, not help children. Here is an article from the LA Times you can read about it:

http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-thrift2-2009jan02,0,2083247.story

From what I have heard, Congress did make the exception for thrift and consignment stores, but craigslist and ebay along with garage sales would be off limits for used children's gear (including clothing) that is meant for children under age 12. If you think this is another stupid move by Congress, go to the website below and sign the petition and email or mail your congressional representatives that you DO NOT support this.

We Are Alive

To all of you who may think we dropped off the face of the earth, we are alive still! We spent two weeks in Utah visiting family for the Holidays and now that we are back, we are attempting to get back into our routine, but Jordan and Clara are both sick so that makes things a little harder! Jordan went back to school today and we found out Clara has a double ear infection, so I have a feeling those still packed suitcases will stay packed just a little longer seeing as Clara just wants to be held! We were bad and didn't take out our camera on our whole vacation, but hopefully soon we will post about all our fun things! I hope all of you had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year!
